It’s time to reserve your seats for Ponca Playhouse’s exciting Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson, Apt 2B, which will run November 14th to 23rd, with Friday and Saturday evening shows at 7:30pm and Sunday matinees at 2pm. Director Nathan Oesterle says, “Classically, Homes and Watson were puzzle pieces that fit perfectly. One had a mind palace that could think critically 100% of the time. The other had interpersonal know-how. The perfect pair built the buddy cop genre. It has lasted through the years and shows no sign of slowing down.”
With solid cast and crew, Oesterle says, “This production was an absolute joy to work on. It blends modern life with classic literature without deluding the original message of the story.” Cast members are Jess Trout as Ms. Sherlock Holmes, Maya Arana as Dr. John Watson, Taryn Pruett as Irene Adler/Mrs. Hudson/Mrs. Drebber and Forest Noelle-Bailey as Lestrade/Elliot Monk.
Playhouse board president Meghann Borum invites community members to let Playhouse leaders know if they’d like to become involved at the theater. There are many ways to be a part of the fun. For productions, you can audition, help in a variety of crew positions, sew/make costumes, or help with ushering, concessions, props and more during the run of the show. There are also committees that assist with production areas, work with membership, help find sponsors and advertisers, and more. Just ask to find out where you might be able to help!
Tickets can be purchased online at www.poncaplayhouse.ludus.com or by calling the theater at 580-765-5360 and leaving a message with your contact information or emailing the Playhouse at PoncaPlayhouse@gmail.com . You may also purchase tickets at the theater an hour prior to any performance. The show contains adult language, violence, and simulated gunfire. It is not recommended for audiences under 13.
Director Oesterle explains, “What makes these oddball deductive consultants capture the hearts of the world is that they, in perfect symmetry, can perform heroic feats solely because the one makes up for what the other lacks. May we all have friendships in the same vein.” The Playhouse board, cast and crew invite you to come out and enjoy an evening at the Playhouse with this hilarious and heartwarming story!
