Charming, kind and ready to share her love of baking with our community, Cheyenne Harbeson launched The Lazy Glaze in February of 2024. With a focus on sweet loaves, cookies and mini bundt cakes, Harbeson is a self-taught baker whose passion for cooking has led to a creative home-bakery business.

If you’re looking for soft, melt-in-your-mouth cookies, look no further. The Lazy Glaze cookies are indulgent, big and the perfect vehicle for Harbeson’s creativity. The lemon Oreo cheesecake cookie is divine. The cream cheese stuffed red velvet white chocolate chip is decadent. The brown butter chocolate chip is tall and chewy. She develops and releases delicious specialty flavors such as Cinco de Mayo, Biscoff stuffed with cookie butter and cinnamon roll cookies. Be warned, becoming smitten with these cookies can lead to heartbreak as the specialty flavors are known to sell out quickly.

The strawberry cream cheese mini bundts are a favorite on the menu. Airier than a pound cake, these adorable, little gems not only instantly elevate the mood of the day, but the flavor is also magnified. The creamy, perfectly tangy, cream cheese frosting balances the sweetness of the cake. They’re almost too cute to eat. Almost.

Among the ooey gooey cookies and airy mini bundt cakes lie the flavored bread loaves, the first items to be offered by The Lazy Glaze. With classic flavors such as banana, lemon blueberry and coffee cake, Harbeson is exceeding the traditional bread expectations with specialty loaves. Cherry almond with vanilla glaze, Bailey’s Irish Cream dark chocolate with chocolate ganache, and coconut lime are a small sampling of the clever and fun concoctions swirling around in Harbeson’s kitchen. As for samples, The Lazy Glaze has a sample box that includes an individually wrapped portion of multiple flavors. This is the perfect way to try what is currently available.

In the vast world of sweet treats, it can be challenging for someone to set themselves apart from the pack, yet that is exactly what Cheyenne is doing. Down to earth and down for fun flavor combinations, you will be doing yourself a disservice by missing out on what The Lazy Glaze has to offer. We love local people sharing their enthusiasm and zeal with us, and thankfully, Harbeson’s drool-worthy creations are already amassing a loyal customer base.

I know it’s summer, but these treats are worth risking an extra dimple on your thighs  Happy Eating!!

Top Three For Me

  1. Gluten free is not for me, but ... there is a huge need for more local options and The Lazy Glaze has plenty! Inquire for weekly options.

  2. Homemade scones. The berry scones are studded with fresh berries and a drizzling of sweet glaze making them the best under appreciated breakfast pastry.

  3. Savory breads! Did someone say cheddar garlic bread??

LET’S TALK ABOUT IT …

Chocolate … If you read this article on the regular, it’s no secret that I caught a lot of slack for my dislike of pickles a few months ago. Well, buckle up, because I can already feel the melancholy thoughts that my disliking chocolate will cause. I don’t hate it; I don’t like it. I never crave it. It always surprises people because if there is one food on earth we can all get behind, it has to be chocolate, right? Nope. Hot fudge sundae? Either keep that hot fudge or keep that sundae. Chocolate sheet cake? Gross. Give me a piece of fried chicken instead. And it is crazy how many people don’t believe me. Like in my 43 years on earth I haven’t been exposed to the “right” chocolate. No. I do not want to try one bite. I see the light slowly fading from their chocolate-loving eyes as they realize I’m not kidding. Sorry, chocolate. It’s not me. It’s you.
