 Toni Gibson has always been concerned about others in her community. It is really no wonder that Gibson owns a pharmacy with a mission statement that begins, “We never want to lose sight of what’s best for our patients.”

She learned this goal when she first worked in her grandfather’s pharmacy, Cuzalina’s, as a young girl. Helping people in the community with health issues was in her blood. Her grandfather T. J. Cuzalina first operated a drugstore in Hartshorne, Oklahoma, but later moved to Ponca City to open his pharmacy and drugstore at 201 East Grand Ave. He was active at his store, in the community and writing opinion articles for the newspaper. Cuzalina was one of the founders of the Cherokee Strip Golf Classic in 1962 after he and Dee Sims figured it would be a fun and effective way to raise funds for the Opportunity Center. They were right, because the Classic has grown and is going strong.

Toni’s father was “Dr. Bob” Gibson, a well-known local doctor with his private clinic in Ponca City for many years. Numerous people have stories of his treatment of them and their families when they were younger and the trust they had for his care.

When Toni graduated from college, she opened her own pharmacy to carry on her grandfather’s legacy and work alongside her father to provide excellent care for area citizens. She is still providing the best healthcare for all her customers, and people can often find her at the pharmacy and personally answering health questions or concerns.
