Happy Halloween from the Ponca City Monthly Podcast! This week, we’re diving into something a little spooky to celebrate.
Back in August, I started planning a spooky special for Halloween something local, something real. After a few dead ends (pun intended), I remembered hearing about the Ponca Tribe’s ghost storytelling nights around the campfire. They weren’t hosting one this year, but they did something even better they set one up just for us.
That’s where I met Bruce Johnson, a member of the Ponca Tribe, who shared a chilling story about his own haunted house… and the unsettling possibility that it’s not just the house that’s haunted, but the land beneath it.
So pull up a chair, dim the lights, and join me as we explore a story rooted in history, culture, and something a little supernatural.
Big thanks to the Ponca Tribe for welcoming me and sharing their stories this Halloween.
