In this episode of the Ponca City Monthly Podcast, Andy chats with Brooke Jones and George Davis of the Trailblazers Rotary Club. Brooke, the current club president, shares the story of how this service-oriented club began just two years ago and now boasts 34 active members. The club hosts monthly service projects, collaborates with local nonprofits like NERA, and brings in guest speakers to educate members about the community.
A highlight of the episode is the club's District Grant project—a painted fox statue for Union School, inspired by a student coloring contest. Winners will receive scholarships to art camp, and the fox will be painted by local artist Courtney Miller, Red Dirt Rosie.
They also dive into CrawFest 2025, the club's signature fundraiser. What began as a simple crawfish boil has quickly grown into a sold-out event with live music, raffle items, and over 600 pounds of crawfish. The proceeds fund local scholarships, leadership programs, and international youth exchange initiatives like the Wings of Rotary, which recently brought Japanese students to Ponca City.
