Oceyonna Fahs, Summer Phillips, and Lashane Crawford - Marland Mall,
July 5, 2024
Where do you work?
Lashane Crawford: We all work at the Jumpy Monkey Coffee Bar in the Marland Mall. I've been working there for a little over three and a half years.
Summer Phillips: I’ve been working for a year.
Oceyonna Fahs: I’ve been there for about a year or two.
Is it nice working there?
Lashane Crawford: Yes. I love that I get to interact with customers and help them out. I have this customer who comes in all the time and is definitely my favorite customer. He works down there at the beauty shop. He'll come in and interact with us and also talk to us. It's just fun to have a smile on their faces when they come in. I also get to have some work systems, which can help me be out of the house more often.
Summer Phillips: I love making the coffee.
Oceyonna Fahs: Like Lashane said, it's really wonderful to be a part of the community, help the customers, and get to know the familiar faces of the regulars that come in all the time. And getting to show people all the different kinds of fudge that you can actually make and have is excellent. It’s just nice to do that.
What has been the hardest part while you've been there?
Summer Phillips: Cleaning the front doors.
Oceyonna Fahs: I'd have to say that trying to resist eating all the fudge is the hardest, to be honest. It's really difficult not just to get a handful all the time. And maybe having to wake up so early. That would be another one.
Lashane Crawford: Not only that, but I also deal with rude people when they come in. Luckily, we don’t get many rude customers, but it still stinks when they are rude.
Oceyonna Fahs: We get a lot of people that want a personal environment and stuff like that.
What is your favorite thing about summer?
Oceyonna Fahs: I love just being able to go out and camp a lot. Anything to do with being outside, really.
Summer Phillips: I like going camping and swimming.
Lashane Crawford: I like just walking around on the lake and the beach. But I do not like it when it gets hot.
